India placed an initial order of 36 single-seater Mirage-2000 and 4 twin-seater Mirage 2000 in 1982 as an answer to Pakistan buying US-made F-16 fighter jets by Lockheed Martin. It later inducted 10 more fighter jets after Mirage 2000 helped India win the Kargil war against Pakistan. Later, the fighter also demonstrated its capacbilitirs during the Balakote Surgical Strikes in 2019 and thanks to its load-carrying capacity, Laser Guided Bombs and latest technology updates, it can carry out attacks anywhere inside and outside India.
