Maharashtra says no relaxation of lockdown-like restrictions anywhere yet

Maharashtra government clarified that contrary to the announcement made by minister Vijay Wadettiwar existing restrictions on account of COVID-19 will not be lifted anywhere. See pics of the lockdown-like curbs imposed in the state.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister's Office said that the ongoing lockdown-like restrictions on account of COVID-19 have not been lifted anywhere in the state and that a final decision is yet to be taken.  

Wadettiwar, minister for Disaster Management, later said only "in principle" approval to phasing out of restrictions was given, but no decision has been taken.

Earlier, in a press conference he had told reporters that restrictions would be lifted in 18 out of 36 districts in the state where the positivity rate is five per cent or less and the occupancy of oxygen beds in hospitals is less than 25 percent from Friday.

Mumbai local trains would not be open to the general public until further notice.
