The LCA Tejas is an indigenously developed 4.5 generation fighter aircraft developed and made in India by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and is currently being deployed by the Indian Air Force. The light combat aircraft (LCA) gets a delta-wing architecture and is built with an intuitive Human-Machine Interface concept. The fighter jet can carry a potent mix of air to ground armament and Beyond Visual Range missiles and has become and integral part of the IAF, along with other foreign-sourced fighter jets like Dassault Rafale, Sukhoi 30 MKI, Dassault Mirage, MiG-21 Bison among others. The Tejas currently has three production models – Tejas Mark 1, Mark 1A and trainer variant and IAF has placed an order for 40 Tejas Mark 1 and 83 Tejas Mark 1A, including Tejas trainer aircraft.
