India records its highest ever single-day COVID-19 vaccination mark, administers over 88.13 lakh doses
India also saw 36,830 patients recovering from the virus in the last 24 hours and the country's recovery rate currently stands at 97.51%, which is the highest since March 2020.

To strengthen the fight against COVID-19, India in the last 24 hours administered over 88.13 lakh doses. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday (August 17, 2021) informed that this is the highest ever vaccination achieved in a single day since the start of India's vaccination drive in January this year.

India recorded 25,166 new COVID-19 cases
Meanwhile, India reported 25,166 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, which, the Union Health Ministry said is the lowest single-day rise in 154 days.
The active cases in the country have now further declined to 3,69,846, the lowest in 146 days.
