On day 5 of the nation-wide lockdown called on by Prime Minister Narendra Modi the roads across the country stood at standstill while at some place like Uttar Pradesh and Delhi the migrants were seen boarding bus in large large numbers to reach their native place. PM Modi had assured people that the lockdown beginning midnight of March 25 till April 14 was in an effort to win the battle against coronavirus and emphasised that social distancing is the only way to prevent the spread of disease at present.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in India on Sunday reached 979 out of which 867 are active cases, 86 recovered, 25 deaths and 1 migrated patient, as per the data shared by Ministry of Health.
