Heavy showers leave Mumbai reeling, road and rail traffic affected

Heavy showers have resulted in many parts of Mumbai reporting waterlogging. Road and rail movement has been hit.

Heavy and continuous rainfall in Mumbai since the wee hours of Monday morning left many parts of the city submerged under at least ankle-deep water. The sights and sounds were all-too-familiar for locals who grapple with waterlogging woes each year. Rail and road traffic in many parts of the city and its suburbs was disrupted with authorities asking people to exercise caution when outdoors.
