Southern Iran Heat Index: As Temperature Touches Record 82.2 Degrees, Scientists Warn Of Impending Severity
Highest Heat Point Of Earth: The severe heatwave in the region is expected to worsen. Climate scientists believe that due to global warming, such extreme weather conditions will become more common in the future.
U.S. meteorologist Colin McCarthy shared his views on this data via social media. Reportedly, he stated that a formal investigation is needed to confirm the accuracy of this information. If the data proves to be correct, it would break all previous records and exacerbate the already severe heat conditions in the region.
The temperature was recorded at a weather station at an airport in Iran. The air temperature was reported 38.9 degrees Celsius, with a high humidity of 85%. Together, these factors created a condition known as the heat index. This heat index was so extreme that it could be considered the hottest temperature ever.
