Heavy rains lashed the national capital on Saturday morning, leading to waterlogging in several parts of the city including underneath Minto Bridge, Moolchand underpass and ITO.
New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday (August 21, 2021) revealed that the capital city has recorded 138.8mm rain in the last 24 hours till 8.30 am today, which is the season's highest one-day rain. Additionally, the Met department has issued an orange alert for moderate rain in Delhi today.

Following reports of waterlogging, the Delhi Traffic Police started issuing notifications on its Twitter page to inform commuters about the closed or diverted routes. Public Works Department (PWD) officials said the field staff was on the ground to address waterlogging complaints on priority.

"Traffic movement on Minto Bridge (both carriageways) has been closed due to waterlogging. Please avoid (the) stretch," the traffic police said in a series of tweets.
"Traffic is affected at Moolchand Underpass due to waterlogging. Inconvenience is regretted. Azad Market Underpass is closed due to 1.5 feet waterlogging, please avoid using this route. Sorry for the inconvenience," it said.
