North India to witness cold wave in next 2 days, says IMD
It's all set to get chilly. The IMD has said that cold wave in isolated pockets is likely over Punjab till December 20 and over Haryana, Chandigarh, and north Rajasthan from December 18 to 20. Punjab will also see dense fog today (December 16) and tomorrow. Even in the northeast, dense fog in isolated pockets very likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura in the morning hours of December 16 and 17.

PM Narendra Modi to address farmers on natural farming
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address farmers during the valedictory session of the National Summit on Agro and Food Processing today (December 16, 2021) in Anand, Gujarat via video-conferencing. Omicron scare: Curbs imposed in Maharashtra
Prohibitory orders under CrPC section 144 have been imposed in Mumbai from December 16 to December 31, a period covering Christmas and New Year eve, in the wake of Omicron cases in Maharashtra. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) police Inspector Nasir Kulkarni told ANI that they "will take action if Covid appropriate behaviour will not be followed by people."

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi continued to attack Union Minister of State for Home, Ajay Kumar Misra alias Teni. On the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, Gandhi said, "This is a conspiracy, it was not a random event. And it is quite obvious who hatched the conspiracy and how. Steve Smith to lead Australia in 2nd Ashes Test
