The single-phase voting for Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry was conducted on Tuesday (April 6, 2021), alongside the third phase of polling in Assam and West Bengal.
Voting was held in 1,53,538 polling stations across 475 assembly constituencies in the four states and one UT.

West Bengal recorded 77.68% voters' turnout till 5 pm on Tuesday, as per the official data. However, the polling was less peaceful in the state as compared to other places.
According to an official, there were more than 1,800 complaints during the day, wherein, 11 people were arrested for their alleged involvement in the attacks on candidates.
In the third of the eight-phase elections, 31 constituencies went to polls in three districts of West Bengal namely Howrah (Part 1), Hooghly (Part 1) and South 24 Parganas (Part 2).

Tamil Nadu witnessed a 72.78% voter turnout, as per the latest reports, which may change slightly when the exact figures are released. 234 Assembly constituencies went for single-phase polls to decide the fortunes of 3,998 candidates.
The state had 88,937 polling stations, 1,29,165 ballot units, 91,180 control units (which comprise the Electronic Voting Machine) and an equal number of VVPAT (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) units.
In Puducherry, the voter turn out was recorded at 81.60%
