Nushrratt Bharuccha, who is known for playing powerful and dominating characters on the silver screen turns 36 today, i.e on May 17.

Born in Prayagraj, Nushrratt kick-started her Bollywood career with a film 'Jai Santoshi Maa,' which was a big flop at the BO. After failing several times, she marked her presence alongside debutant Rajkummar Rao in Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha.’ She garnered a lot of praises for her brilliant performance.

But this wasn’t the turning point of her life, she actually shot to fame with Luv Ranjan’s directorial ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ alongside Kartik Aaryan in 2011. This was the biggest breakthrough of her career and her chemistry with Kartik became the talk-of-the-town.

According to several reports, Nushrratt started her career with the TV industry and was seen in Zee TV’s ‘Kittie Party’ serial in 2002.

She is a dog lover and leaves no chance of showering love on her pet dog. 

Reportedly, Nushrratt was shortlisted for a lead role in the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ but due to some unavoidable reason she had to leave the role.

She has a huge belief in numerology and that is the reason she has changed the spelling of her name.

Interestingly, for her film ‘Akaash Vani’, which got released in 2013, Nushrratt left non-veg food completely as her character in the film demanded so. Not only that but also she was asked by the director to wear Indian clothes only in her day-to-day life and so she had to wear salwar kameez all the time.
