Delhi-Ayodhya bullet train to reduce travel time to 2 hours! Know more about Centre’s ambitious plan

Currently, the 670 km distance between New Delhi and Ayodhya is covered by a long and tiring road journey of about 14-15 hours. Passengers also travel 10-18 hours by train to reach the pious land. 

However, with the bullet train, passengers will be able to reach Ayodhya from Delhi in just two hours. The train is expected to run at 350 km/hr. 

Top officials finalised the location for the bullet train station in Ayodhya on Friday (August 20). The officials have reportedly also taken the information regarding the residential, rail line alignment, and more, to begin the construction of the bullet train. 

Reports suggest that the National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRC) will be looking after the Delhi-Ayodhya bullet train project. The land of the bullet train station is located near the proposed international airport.

Besides the Delhi to Ayodhya bullet train, the Central government has also fast-tracked the construction of the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport project to bring Ayodhya on the world’s tourism map. The train station will be located near the Lucknow-Gorakhpur bypass.  

At present, the bullet train project is in the initial phases of planning. The detailed report outlying the specifications of the bullet train project will be made public later. Reports suggest that the train will eventually connect Delhi to Lucknow, circling Varanasi and Agra.
