BMW R 18 B and R 18 Transcontinental: Check specs, features and India launch details: In Pics

BMW R 18 B and R 18 Transcontinental motorcycles will be launched in three colour variants: Black, 719 Galaxy Dust metallic, and the Manhattan metallic matt. Both the bikes will also be launched in the “First Edition” guise variant, which will have “First Edition” lettered stitched on the bikes’ seats.

Both the upcoming bikes are based on the standard R 18, and that’s why share several features with each other. However, the new bikes are packed with all-new features such as Marshall’s  208W audio system with four-speaker along with two subwoofers to operate the music system.  

Riders will be able to operate the music system from the 10.25-inch TFT display.  Moreover, BMW R 18 B and R 18 Transcontinental will sport four analogue dials and heated grips. The R 18 Transcontinental will also pack heated seats.  

At present, BMW hasn’t revealed the prices of the BMW R 18 B and R 18 Transcontinental bikes. However, since the two bikes are seen as an upgrade over the BMW R 18 model, it is expected that the new cruisers will be launched at a higher price than the standard model.

BMW Motorrad is expecting to kick off the worldwide Transcontinental sales will begin from September 2021. In India, the bikes could get an entry by the end of 2021.

BMW R 18 B and R 18 Transcontinental get the same engine that is used in the standard R 18 model. The 1802cc twin-cylinder boxer engine is capable of producing a peak torque of 158Nm at 3000rpm. Both bikes also get a 24-litre fuel tank.
