34 Toll Booths On 29 KM Road: LARGEST Toll Plaza On India’s Shortest Expressway!

The country's first urban expressway, the Dwarka Expressway, is a lifeline for the people of Delhi and Gurugram. This 16-lane expressway covers a total distance of 29 km, with 18.9 km running through Gurugram and 10.1 km through Delhi.

It is also the country’s first elevated expressway, offering a smooth ride above the ground, much like a flyover. With construction costs exceeding Rs 9,000 crores, the expressway features a 23 km elevated section and a 4 km underground stretch.

There is a stretch on the expressway where it becomes a four-level structure. At this point, there’s an underpass at the bottom, a service lane above it, then a flyover, and finally, the Dwarka Expressway at the top. This unique structure is called the Multi-Utility Corridor.

The expressway holds the distinction of having the widest toll plaza. Surprisingly, the Dwarka Expressway has 34 toll booths on a toll plaza, the most on any expressway in India.

The toll for a one-way trip on the Dwarka Expressway is Rs 105 for cars, jeeps, and vans, and Rs 155 for a round trip. For buses and trucks, the one-way toll is Rs 355, and the round-trip toll is Rs 535.
