New Delhi: Heavy rains in Mumbai have disrupted the daily life of its citizens. On Tuesday, millions of people were found stranded all over the city due to the massive downpour. Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, who was keeping a tab on the weather forecasts, urged everyone to be safe.

PeeCee also posted a jaw-dropping boomerang video on her Instagram page. In the short clip, powerful rain water can be seen pouring in from her balcony. "Torrential Mumbai Monsoon. The wrath of nature. Pls be safe everyone. Pls allow strays into dry spaces," she captioned the post.

On Tuesday, Mumbai was inundated with heavy rains with the suburbs notching a staggering 316 mm in a 12-hour cycle -- the highest record since the great Mumbai floods of July 26, 2005, which was coincidentally a Tuesday.

In the 24-hour cycle since Tuesday 8.30 a.m. till Wednesday, the suburbs recorded 332 mm while the city notched 111 mm rains, the IMD said.
