Mumbai: Soon after images of Mahira Khan and Ranbir Khan taking a smoke break outside a hotel in New York City surfaced on social media a few months ago, haters trolled the Pakistani actress and shamed her for wearing a short dress.
However, her friends and well wishers from Bollywood as well as the Pakistani film industry extended support to her by giving befitting responses to trolls.
Recently, Ranveer Singh expressed his views regarding the hullabaloo surrounding Ranbir and Mahira while talking to a leading daily, a Pinkvilla report said.
“I can only speak about my own experience. There are times when I’m at a certain place with certain people and I don’t want those private moments to be captured by anyone. But, you can’t help it. You got to take the bad with the good. I get to do what I love to do and I make a lot of money. But some things are irritating and you’ve got to take them in your stride. It’s a crazy world,” Pinkvilla quoted Ranveer as saying.
Talking about the criticism and flak the actress received, Ranveer said, “Everyone has their own interpretation. Everyone has their own set of values. Everyone has an opinion. You can hear them but you needn’t subscribe to them. At the end of the day, one should just live and let live and focus on more important things. Mahira is a great performer and an entertainer. One should ideally just engage with her at just that level.”
After maintaining stoic silence for quite some time, Mahira responded to the controversy with great confidence. She silenced haters with an epic response and said, “it’s very normal for a girl and a guy to hangout...it’s a very normal thing.”
