Mumbai: Pakistani film star Mahira Khan had made headlines for all ‘wrong’ reasons a couple of weeks back. She was slammed by people in her home country for wearing short clothes and smoking soon after her photographs with Ranbir Kapoor in New York City surfaced online.
An avalanche of negative comments flooded social media and there were people slamming her for her choice of dress as well. Nonetheless, Mahira never ran short of support either. Her friends and well-wishers turned into an army to hit-back at shamers.
Mahira hadn’t tweeted since September 19 and hence fans were eagerly waiting for her. On October 3, Monday, she announced by return to the micro-blogging site by responding to a fan’s tweet that read: “@TheMahiraKhan aap aa jao yaar”

Then she also tweeted about the tragic Las Vegas attack. And a while later, she shared the teaser of her upcoming film Verna. Fans of the actress were thrilled to see her back on Twitter. They expressed their joy by responding to her tweet.

Mahira became a household name in India after she made her debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rahul Dholakia’s Raees in January this year. Her performance in the film was much appreciated and so was her chemistry with SRK.
