Macao: The second edition of International Film Festival and Awards Macao (IFFAM) will be held between December 8-14 this year.
'Avengers' star Jeremy Renner will be the talent ambassador this year along with Donnie Yen, Korean star DO, and Miriam Yeung.
'Paddington 2' will be the opening film at the festival, which will screen over 40 movies in various categories including the Competition section, Gala, Flying Daggers, Best of Fest Panorama, Crossfire, Special Presentation and more, across seven days.
The 'Crossfire' category will present classic films, selected by six directors Shekhar Kapur, Im Sang Soo, Penek Ratanaruang, Martin Koolhoven, Del Toro, and Ivan Sen.
The line-up for the 'Special Presentation' category includes Guillermo del Toro's 'The Shape of Water' and George Clooney's 'Suburbicon.'
The festival jury will be headed by French director Laurent Cantet along with actor Joan Chen, Austrian director Jessica Hausner, author Lawrence Osborne and director Royston Tan.
"IFFAM is such a young and vibrant film festival brimming with new possibilities and potentials to tap into," said Senna Fernandes, President of the IFFAM organising committee.
This year theme is, 'A New Avenue to the World of Films'.
"We aspire to tailor a high-quality programme fuelled by fresh new elements to fascinate our audience, as we strive for the vision to forge IFFAM into a prestigious brand in the world," he added.
