Odisha session adjourns after obituary references

Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra of Congress and Pradip Purohit of BJP also paid their tribute to the departed leaders following which the House observed a minutes silence.

Bhubaneswar: The monsoon session of the Odisha Assembly on Thursday began with paying rich tributes to departed leaders including Congress MLA Subal Sahu.

As the House assembled for the session, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik moved condolence motion over the demise of MLA Subal Sahu, former legislator Sura Sethi and martyr constable Laxmikant Jani.

Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra of Congress and Pradip Purohit of BJP also paid their tribute to the departed leaders following which the House observed a minutes silence.

Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat described their losses as irreparable. The Speaker later adjourned the house for the day till tomorrow in respect of the departed souls.
