BHUBANESWAR: There is no evidence to prove that 14-old-girl of Kunduli in Koraput district was raped, the Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) ADG revealed on Tuesday.
ADG Mahendra Pratap, who submitted the medical reports to the Odisha Human Rights Commission on Monday said medical experts have found no proof of gangrape after examining the girl.
“I have discussed with all medical experts treating the girl at Kunduli, Jeypore and MKCG hospital in Berhampur during the course of investigation. I have submitted the reports attached with doctors' version to the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) yesterday. As per doctors’ opinion, there is no such evidence of rape,” he said.
During the course of the investigation, the movement of security forces, who were alleged to be involved in the case, could not be established.
The 14-old-girl of Kunduli in Koraput district had alleged that she was gangraped by a group of security personnel on October 10 which triggered State-wide outrage forcing police to declare it as a ‘Red-flag’ case.
A case under Sections 376 (D) and 377 of IPC and Section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act had been registered.
