Turkish PM to visit Pakistan

Islamabad: Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will visit Pakistan Feb 17-18, an official statement said Monday.

The fourth meeting of the Pakistan-Turkey High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) would be held during Davutoglu`s visit, the statement issued by the Pakistan foreign affairs ministry said. 

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Davutoglu would co-chair the HLSCC session. 

The High Level Cooperation Council (HLCC) was established at the prime ministerial level in October 2009. 

It has had three sessions so far: in Ankara in December 2010, in Islamabad in May 2012, and in Ankara in September 2013. 

The HLSCC meeting would be preceded by meetings of joint working groups (JWGs) in six key areas -- finance and banking, trade, energy, transport and communications, education, and culture and tourism. 

Davutoglu is also scheduled to meet Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain.

This would be Davutoglu`s first visit to Pakistan since assuming office in August 2014. 

Earlier, he visited Pakistan as his country`s foreign minister.
