Kabul: Afghanistan Taliban on Tuesday urged followers to show their unified support to Mullah Mohammad Omar's successor, Mullah Akhtar Mansour, even as the fissures within the terrorist organisations became visible.
Taliban spokesmen Zabihullah Mujahid and Qari Yusouf Ahmadi issued a statement asking supporters to show their support on social media and disregard “enemy propaganda”, according to AP news report.
Mansour, who was announced as the Taliban chief last week, had stepped down from the post earlier today after opposition, according to AFP report.

Mansour stepped down after objection from Omar's son Yaqub and brother Manan over his appointment.
Taliban is already facing rift internally with several militants defecting to Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Mullah Omar's death has been confirmed by the militant organisation after Afghanistan's security agency said last week that he had died in April 2013.
Omar was a reclusive leader who was close to slain al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, ruled Afghanistan from 1996-2001 and was a reclusive leader.
