London: New laws governing the British porn industry have banned sex acts like strangulation, face-sitting, fisting, humiliation and spanking, which are considered morally damaging, but stakeholders have warned that the rules will destroy the adult entertainment business.
Demonstrations against new pornography laws are apparently becoming more and more intense of late as protesters in gimp masks hold ‘mass face sitting’ outside Parliament. The new laws were passed about a year ago.
Sex acts such as full bondage and restraint, female ejaculation and depictions of non-consensual sex are also banned by the laws.
Sex workers in interwiews described how their livelihoods are being destroyed by the strict regulations.
“The enforcement was far swifter and more heavy handed than I expected,” metro.co.uk quoted Pandora Blake, 31, as saying.
Pandor, who was forced to close down her website ‘Dreams of Spanking’, said the laws were “needlessly oppressive and sexist”.
She said that it wasn’t just about money but when her site was shut, five years of creativity and hard work were “destroyed in a single blow”.
Megara Furie, a 32-year-old from Glasgow, suggested placing the onus on parents to protect their children from pornography.
