South Korean Ambassador visits Ayodhya

South Korean Ambassador to India Joon-gyu Lee on Wednesday visited the memorial of 'Queen Ho' built on the banks of river Saryu in Ayodhya.

Ayodhya: South Korean Ambassador to India Joon-gyu Lee on Wednesday visited the memorial of 'Queen Ho' built on the banks of river Saryu in Ayodhya.

The South Korean government wishes to develop the memorial in Korean Pagoda style for which the Union government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 5 crore for the development of this Korean park in Ayodhya.

The Ambassador, accompanied by Director of Tourism Abhilash Sharma and Resident Magistrate of Ayodhya Ashis Kumar Mishra, visited the memorial and paid homage to the Queen.

According to a Korean book written in the 11th?century 'The History of Three Kingdoms', a princess from Ayodhya named 'Hur-Huwang-Ho' went to Korea in 48 AD and married King Suro Kim.

In a brief interaction with media, the Ambassador said South Korea enjoys good relations with India and we want to make it stronger.
