Missing Egyptian bishop`s wife returns

The wife of an Egyptian Coptic priest whose disappearance had sparked demonstrations here, has now been found, a week after she went missing.

Cairo: The wife of an Egyptian Coptic
priest whose disappearance had sparked demonstrations here,
has now been found, a week after she went missing.

The woman, wife of the bishop of Al-Minya`s Dayr Mawas
monastery had disappeared under mysterious circumstances and
protesters alleged that she was abducted.

Sources at the central church on Saturday said the
woman had left a week ago over marital disputes and has now
returned.

The incident had sparked protests in Cairo with
hundreds of angry Christians shouting slogans against the
police.

However, the Church later appreciated security official for the return of the women.

Hani Aziz, Secretary-General of "Egypt Peace Lovers" society, said the priest`s wife disappeared from the house due
to normal marital disputes.
