MH 370: Likely wreckage of doomed plane found in Indian Ocean

A piece of wreckage from a Boeing 777, possibly that of doomed plane MH 370, has washed up on the coast of Mozambique, a U.S. Official said.

The object was found on a sandbank off the eastern African country this weekend.

Almost two years back, on March 8, 2014, the flight had disappeared with 239 people on board, 12 Malaysian crew members and 227 passengers from 15 nations, while flying from Kuala Lampur to Beijing.

The newly discovered debris is on its way to Malaysia for further examination.

The wreckage is a piece of horizontal stabilizer skin.

Last July a two-metre-long wing part washed up on a beach on the island of Reunion, located in the Indian Ocean, across Madagascar from where the latest debris was found.
