Beijing: A Chinese man was detained today for allegedly raping and killing a 13-year-old girl in north China's Hebei province.
Gao, 42, confessed to police in Anxin County that he raped the girl in a corn field before killing her on September 4, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The accused dragged the girl surnamed Dong, who was on her way to school, to the corn field before raping and killing her.
The man was a history-sheeter and did not know the girl, police said.
