Dubai: A 38-year-old Indian woman in the UAE was killed on the spot when she was run over by a speeding car while crossing a road from an unauthorised area.
The police said the woman who was not identified was crossing the road in Al Khan Road in Sharjah from an unauthorised area and was run over by the car yesterday.
By the time the police and ambulance reached the scene, the woman had died, Khaleej Times reported.
The body was shifted to a nearby hospital.
Eight people have lost their lives in run-over accidents so far this year despite the intensified awareness campaigns, the police said.
