Paris: France`s far-right National Front leader Marine Le Pen welcomed a "magnificent result" in the first round of regional polls on Sunday.
She said the early estimates, which showed her party topping the poll with between 27.2 and 30.8 percent of the vote, proved the FN was "without contest the first party of France".
