London: US President Barack Obama and British PM David Cameron have expressed “delight” after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on Saturday welcomed a baby princess as the newest member of the royal family.
US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle sent a congratulatory message to the royal couple, saying, “Michelle and I are delighted to congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family, and all the people of the United Kingdom on the birth of the Royal Princess”.
British PM David Cameron, who is engrossed in the last-ditch efforts to woo the voters ahead of the elections on May 7, too spoke of his “delight” at the birth of the royal princess.

Prince William`s wife Kate Middleton gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday morning at at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital, the Kensington Palace informed.
The baby girl weighing 8lbs 3oz (3.7 kg) was delivered after a short labour at 8:34 am on Saturday morning.
The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.

Few hours after her birth, Prince William and Kate introduced their daughter princess to the world, prompting cheers from the crowd gathered outside St. Mary's Hospital.
The princess wrapped in a shawl with a bonnet covering her head lay sleeping in the arms of her mother Kate, as the royal couple waved and smiled to the cheering crowd.
Celebrating the birth of the princess, the Kensington Palace asked people to send their photographs “telling us about any recent new arrivals using the hashtag #WelcomeToTheFamily”.
Many people sent the photographs of their new-born babies and some also sent the pictures of their pets.
