Kolkata: Overall 83.05 percent voters exercised their votes in 56 constituencies for the second phase of the West Bengal assembly polls on Sunday, officials said.

Maximum polling (89.58 percent) was recorded at Rajganj constituency of Jalpaiguri district, while the lowest voter turn-out was in Darjeeling constituency (69.08 percent).

Of the 56 constituencies, five were in Alipurduar, seven in Jalpaiguri, six in Darjeeling, nine in Uttar Dinajpur, six in Dakshin Dinajpur, 12 in Malda and 11 in Birbhum.

Among districts, voter turn-out in Darjeeling district was the lowest (77.93 percent) while Dakshin Dinajpur recorded maximum polling (86.16 percent), followed by Birbhum (84.91 percent).

Siliguri constituency, where Communist Party of India-Marxist candidate Asok Bhattacharya and Trinamool Congress` Bhaichung Bhutia were locking horns,recorded 80.40 percent polling.
