Kolkata: The health condition of Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee has substantially improved over the past two days.

The TMC youth wing president and party supremo Mamata Banerjee's nephew has been allowed free mobilisation and normal diet from today, a medical bulletin issued this morning by Belle Vue Clinic, where the leader is undergoing treatment, said.

"His superficial stitches of lacerated wound over the left cheek were comfortably removed yesterday forenoon while the most important stitches within the eye/orbit area shall be removed in due course after appropriate planning by the medical board," the bulletin said.

Banerjee's eye movements and vision were better as compared to that on Friday and the swelling had also reduced "substantially", Belle Vue Clinic CEO P Tandon said.
