DNA: Mumbai pothole accident - A case of miscarriage of justice by police

The Thane police have booked a woman for rash driving and causing death by negligence after her mother, who was riding pillion with her on a scooter, fell when she failed to manoeuvre around potholes and died during treatment. Interestingly, the woman had sought to file a case against the contractors responsible for the road after her mother died, but the police chose to file an accidental death case. On Tuesday, they slapped the charges on her that could put her behind bars for up to two years.
