Dehradun, Nainital to receive heavy rainfall

More than 50 roads in the state continue to be blocked by landslides, leading to problems for people living in some towns and villages.

Dehradun: Many parts of Uttarakhand, especially Dehradun and Nainital, are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains in the next 48-hours, an official of the Met Department said on Tuesday.

The cloud bursts and landslides due to heavy rains have caused large scale damage and loss of lives in many parts of the state. 

More than 50 roads in the state continue to be blocked by landslides, leading to problems for people living in some towns and villages.

Roads leading to the Chaar Dhaam -- Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath -- have also been hit by landslides, leading to many disruptions in the annual pilgrimage that draws lakhs of people every year.
