UP Legislative Council adjourned thrice amidst uproar by Oppn

Opposition members today created a ruckus in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council for the second consecutive day on law and order, power crisis and other issues, forcing the chair to adjourn the house three times.

Lucknow: Opposition members today created a ruckus in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council for the second consecutive day on law and order, power crisis and other issues, forcing the chair to adjourn the house three times.

As soon as proceedings of the house began opposition members, including those of BSP, BJP and Congress raised issues of law and order and power crisis in the state and demanded a debate on these issues.

Not satisfied with the reply of `Leader of the House` Ahmad Hasan the opposition members stormed into the well after which Chairman Ganesh Shanker Pandey adjourned the house till 11.30 AM.

When the house reassembled at 11.30 AM, the Opposition terming the issues as important repeated demand for a debate and stormed into the well.

The chairman requested the members to take their seats but when the pandemonium continued amidst slogan shouting by the Opposition members he adjourned the house again till 12.20 noon.

At 12.20 noon as the `Leader of the House` started reading out the annual budget of the government as tabled in the Vidhan Sabha by the CM Akhilesh Yadav for the fiscal 2014-15, the Opposition members once again came into the well of the house and started raising slogans.
Amidst uproar the Leader of the House tabled the budget and agenda items were take up after which chairman Pandey adjourned the house till Monday.
