Three persons died due to severe cold in Uttar Pradesh where mercury dipped several notches below normal at several places and Najibabad was the coldest in the state.

Three persons, including two in Ghazipur and one in Barabanki, died due to severe cold, sources said here.

According to the MeT department, night temperature rose in Varanasi division, appreciably fell in Agra, fell in Moradabad division and changed little in other parts of the state.
Nazibabad was the coldest in the state with minimum temperature of 0.5 degree Celsius while the state capital had minimum temperature of 5.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.
The MeT department has forecast rain or thundershower a few places over eastern UP and isolated places over western UP. Fog would occur at isolated places over the state.
