SP MLA booked for assaulting village pradhan

A Samjawadi Party MLA was booked by police for assaulting a man who alleged that he had paid the legislator money for getting some youths jobs in the government sector.

Bulandshahr: A Samjawadi Party MLA was booked by police for assaulting a man who alleged that he had paid the legislator money for getting some youths jobs in the government sector.

Village Pradhan of Kaliawan, Sanjay Sharma, had alleged that he paid Rs 21 Lakh to Bhagwan Sharma for getting government jobs to some youths, Police Circle Officer (City) Rakesh Kumar said.

The MLA had been dilly-dallying the matter and this was reported by Sanjay to Public Works Department Minister Shivpal Yadav at a meeting at Narora last evening.

When Sanjay was returning to his village after the meeting ended, he was intercepted at Debai crossing by the MLA, who with his associates, assaulted him there.

A case under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (breach of Peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC has been registered against Bhagwan Sharma, Kumar said.
The Cirlce Officer said that police prime-facie found the charges made against the legislator correct.
