Situation in Dadri's Bishada village, where a 50-year-old man was bludgeoned to death over rumours of eating beef, is gradually limping back to normalcy with shops reopening and villagers returning back to their routine life, District Magistrate NP Singh said on Tuesday night.

Greater Noida: Situation in Dadri's Bishada village, where a 50-year-old man was bludgeoned to death over rumours of eating beef, is gradually limping back to normalcy with shops reopening and villagers returning back to their routine life, District Magistrate NP Singh said on Tuesday night.

Singh along with SSP Kiran S visited Bishada and nearby villages to take stock of the situation in the area.

In a late night statement issued here, the Gautam Buddh Nagar DM claimed that the situation was getting back to normal with locals going about with their routine work.

"Situation is normal. It will further improve and complete normalcy will be achieved once visitors stop coming to Bishada and media vans also leave the area," he said.

Schools too functioned normally, Singh, who has been camping in the area and monitoring the law and order situation there, said.

The DM directed officers to take strict action against people who try to disturb the communal harmony.

The district administration has also formed six peace committees to maintain communal harmony in the area. Elderly people and other distinguished persons from both communities of the village are members of the peace committees.
