Mau: In a shocking statement, Uttar Pradesh's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vice-president Dayashankar Singh on Tuesday said Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati was ‘worse than a prostitute’.
Talking to reporters, “Even a prostitute fulfils her commitment after she is paid. But Mayawati sells party tickets to anyone who pays her higher amount.”

Reacting to Singh's shocking statement, Mayawati on Wednesday said such derogatory statements show that the BJP is frustrated with the growing public support for the BSP.
Facing criticism over his statement, Singh tendered an apology.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya denied having any knowledge about Singh's statement. "If anything objectionable is found, the party will deliberate on it," added Maurya.
