A court here has rejected the bail plea of alleged terrorist Saleem Patla, arrested in connection with 1992 attack at a PAC camp in Meerut, in a case of cheating lodged against him.

Muzaffarnagar (UP): A court here has rejected the bail plea of alleged terrorist Saleem Patla, arrested in connection with 1992 attack at a PAC camp in Meerut, in a case of cheating lodged against him.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Rajbir Singh rejected bail application saying there was no case of bail here, according to prosecution lawyer.

Patla was arrested in connection with a cheating case at Khatoli town in the district on October 31, 2014. He was booked for allegedly using forged documents to procure SIM cards.

Patla was wanted in the 1992 attack at a camp of Provincial Armed Constabulary in Meerut and was arrested in a joint operation by Muzaffarnagar police and Anti-Terrorist Squad on October 31 last year from Khatoli town in the district.

The terrorist was absconding since the attack in which two security personnel were killed in the camp. Two of Patla's accomplices in the attack were given life sentence.

Khatoli police had registered a case against him for cheating after mobile SIM cards allegedly procured with forged documents were recovered from him during arrest.

However, two other cases in connection with the attack are pending against Patla in the Meerut court.
