Mathura: A local court Wednesday ordered filing of an FIR against a police official under the POSCO Act for refusing to register a case over assault of a minor girl in Krishna Nagar area here.
Additional District Judge Vivekanand Saran Tripathi directed filing of a case against Sub Inspector Vinod Kumar, in charge of Krishna Nagar outpost, for allegedly refusing to file an FIR in the case.
"The court was apprised by Inspector Kotwali, Sanjai Jaiswal that an FIR has been registered against Sub Inspector Vinod Kumar, under relevant sections of IPC and Posco Act," government counsel Ravinder Singh said.
According to the complainant, the accused police official refused to file the FIR when his daughter was physically assaulted by one Hasmat alias Bunti of Sukhadeo Nagar on April 3. She also alleged that Kumar demanded money from her for registering the case.
She then approached the court.
