Barabanki: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Akhilesh Yadav led Samajwadi Party government over Kairana 'exodus', Mathura violence.
Addressing a public meet, Shah said, "Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati supported tainted UPA government.
Trying to connect the chord with the electorate, the BJP president said, “If you want UP to be develop then vote for the BJP.”
On a lighter note, Shah said, “When I visited Gujarat, people told me that PM Narendra Modi ji Gujarat ke hain, maine bola bhaiya Modi ji ab Gujarat ke nhi hain, Banaras ke saansad hain. Modi ji ab 'UP wale' hain. (When people told me Modi ji belongs to Gujarat, I had to clear it that PM Modi is an MP from Varanasi and thus is a UP man)”
Hitting hard at the SP regime, Shah said the government is being run by three and a half chief ministers – one Akhilesh Yadav, Mulayam Singh, Shivpal Yadav and 'half' Azam Khan.
He accused the Akhilesh Yadav government of favouring people from a particular caste and religion and giving them job opportunities.
Taking on Akhilesh over Kairana exodus, Shah said, “The CM says it is a law and order problem, so I would like to ask him, who is entrusted with the power to maintain law and order situation in the state.” Will US President Barack Obama take care of this? Shah roared.
He expressed confidence in BJP to form the next government in Uttar Pradesh by two-third majority.
