New Delhi: The US space agency NASA's Mars Curiosity Mars rover has spotted an individual grains of sand and laminations from the sandstone deposit in which the nodule formed on Mount Sharp, Mars.
This nodule is about one inch (two centimeters) across and appears within wider context in the left foreground of a Sol 2176 view from Curiosity Mast Camera (Mastcam).
The image was taken on March 10, 2016, during the 1,277th Martian dayof Curiosity's work on Mars.
