Bangalore: India's Mars Orbiter Mission, lovingly called Mangalyaan, has sent back its first 3D image of the Red Planet captured by its cameras onboard the satellite, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said.

Uploading the 3D image on its Facebook page, the Indian space agency also said that the anaglyph 3D image of Mars was generated using multiple pictures acquired by Mars Color Camera.
The image was captured by MOM’s Mars Colour Camera from an altitude of nearly 74,500 km on September 28.
However, viewers will need 3D glasses to view the image.
Launched on November 5, 2013 aboard PSLV rocket C25, Mangalyaan spacecraft was successfully inserted into the Martian orbit on September 24 after a 298-day transit to Mars.
India became the first Asian country to reach Mars and the first in the world to enter Martian orbit in its first attempt.
The spacecraft, which is currently orbiting the Mars, is now studying the Red Planet's surface and scanning the atmosphere for methane with the help of its scientific instruments.
