China`s lunar probe Chang`e-2 was manoeuvered to an experimental orbit Tuesday evening.

Beijing: China`s lunar probe Chang`e-2 was manoeuvered to an experimental orbit Tuesday evening for taking pictures of the moon`s Sinus Iridium or Bay of Rainbows.
Scientists successfully sent the satellite into the orbit just 15 km above the moon, Xinhua reported citing a flight control official in Beijing.

Chang`e-2 was launched Oct 1 by a Long March-3C carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in Sichuan province.
