IBM acquires Israeli data security company `Trusteer`

US technology giant IBM announced that it has purchased Israeli data security company Trusteer, Globes economic daily reported.

According to the report, the deal is estimated to be valued at $630 million in addition to millions of dollars` salary payment to Trusteer`s employees, Xinhua reported.

IBM will also set up an Israeli software lab where 200 engineers will conduct research and development on mobile device security apps and cloud-delivered security solutions.

"Trusteer`s experience and superior technology in endpoint defence and advanced malware prevention will help our clients across all industries address the constantly evolving threats they are facing," IBM said in a statement Thursday.

"Together with IBM`s capabilities in advanced threat detection, analysis and remediation, we will now be able to offer our clients several additional layers of defence against sophisticated attackers," it added.
