Bengal youth science fair to begin on Sunday

The West Bengal State Student Youth Science Fair will be held from October 4 to 6 with an aim to create interest in science education and foster innovation, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Saturday.

Kolkata: The West Bengal State Student Youth Science Fair will be held from October 4 to 6 with an aim to create interest in science education and foster innovation, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Saturday.

The fair is being organized by the state department of youth services to create interest in science education and foster scientific attitude, creativity and innovative practices in science and technology among the state's youth for national development.

The fair will have a competitive format. Students from schools, colleges and universities across the state can participate. They will have to present scientific models, projects, mini research reports on pre-decided themes.

To be held at the Netaji Indoor Stadium, it also involves the higher education department, Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search and Birla Industrial and Technological Museum, under the National Council of Science Museums.
