Scientists observe third significant Solar flare in 2 days

Washington: NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory has recently captured images of the third substantial Solar flare, which occurred on Oct. 22 in the lower half of the sun, in two days.

This flare was classified as an X1.6 class flare. X-class flares denote the most extreme flares.

Second substantial flare, which was occurred on Oct. 21, 2014, was a mid-level solar flare.

Solar flares are powerful bursts of radiation. Harmful radiation from a flare cannot pass through Earth's atmosphere to physically affect humans on the ground, however, when intense enough they could disturb the atmosphere in the layer where GPS and communications signals travel.
