Rosetta's Philae sends first image of  Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko - See pic

New Delhi: After scripting history in space, ESA's Rosetta has now tweeted the first picture of the Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko taken by its robotic probe Philae after it landed safely on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Philae lander sent a high quality picture of Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The image of the comet has been posted by European Space Agency (ESA) on its official Twitter account namely ESA Rosetta Mission.

On Wednesday, November 12, 2014, the Philae lander touched down on Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko at about 1605 GMT.

The Rosetta's Philae is built and launched by the ESA to perform a detailed study of comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko with both an orbiter and lander module.

Philae has travelled for almost ten years and covering a distance of some 4 billion miles.
