New Delhi: It seems Delhiites are in for no relief from the rising air pollution. Air quality in Delhi last night plunged to the 'very poor' level with real-time readings of PM 2.5, the tiniest and most damaging of all the particulate matters, breaching the 'severe' category in areas across the national capital.

Later, on Monday, the Delhi High Court mentioned that the air pollution in the national capital is of an "emergency nature" and said this situation would not have arisen if the authorities had implemented laws and rules in place to prevent environmental degradation.

 

Of late, experts have raised concerns about poor air quality in Delhi creating scare among the residents.

The air pollution at Anand Vihar, Delhi as per the Real-time Air Quality Index Visual Map was recorded at 409, which is considered hazardous at 8:00am in the morning on Thursday, December 24, 2015.

Similarly, areas in and around Punjabi Bagh lie at 420 at 8:00 am.

New Delhi US Embassy and RK Puram are at 349 and 400 respectively.
